Marcel Weiss (1974) is CEO of Serafin Asset Management AG (formerly: AMG Fondsverwaltung AG).

He acquired his broad and long-standing financial expertise at major Swiss financial institutions and Swiss private banks before joining the fund management company LLB Swiss Investment AG in 2012, where he served as CEO. With the move to Serafin Asset Management AG in spring 2019, Marcel Weiss actively contributes his expertise and experience in the areas of client advisory & marketing, portfolio management, trading & risk management and mutual funds. He also has broad project experience.

Marcel Weiss is a Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA). He also got a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and holds a Master of Advanced Studies in Corporate Development. He is married and has three children. He enjoys spending his free time in his garden, cooking and doing sports, namely jogging, squash, skiing and snowboarding.

Silvio Halsig

Executive Board, CIO

Silvio Halsig (1979) is Co-Founder of the Serafin Asset Management Group. Since 2023, he has been a member of the Executive Board and CIO of Serafin Asset Management AG in Zug (formerly: AMG Fondsverwaltung AG) and Serafin Asset Management GmbH in Frankfurt.

With over 15 years of expertise in the investment sector, acquired in the investment area at institutions such as Zürcher Kantonalbank and Bank Vontobel AG, Silvio Halsig has been contributing his comprehensive experience as Co-Founder of Serafin Asset Management since 2021.

Silvio Halsig holds a Master of Arts in Quantitative Economics and Finance from the University of St. Gallen and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics and Investment from London Metropolitan University in England. He is in a partnership and has one daughter. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and diverse activities in the Alps.

Fritz Eggimann

Executive Board, Partner
Portfolio Management

Fritz Eggimann (1964) has been a member of the Executive Board of Serafin Asset Management AG (formerly: AMG Fondsverwaltung AG) since 2022 and a Partner and Co-Portfolio Manager of the AMG Gold - Mines & Metals Fund since 2013.

Fritz Eggimann has many years of experience in investment consulting, portfolio and asset management. He acquired his expertise over several years at SBG (now UBS) and at an independent asset manager. Since 1998 he has been intensively involved in the investment topic of precious metals. In particular, he analyses companies that mainly mine gold and silver. In 2006, he founded the AMG Gold - Mines & Metals Fund with AMG Analysen & Anlagen AG and has been the responsible portfolio manager ever since.

Fritz Eggimann is a Federally Qualified Banking Expert and father of two grown-up children. In his free time, he recharges his batteries in nature and with his family.

Dr. Niklas Bayrle

Investment Specialist
Serafin Innovation Hub

Dr. Niklas Bayrle (1990) joined Serafin Asset Management AG (formerly: AMG Fondsverwaltung AG) as an Investment Specialist in 2023.

He has many years of experience in the field of corporate innovation analysis. Before joining Serafin Asset Management AG, Dr. Niklas Bayrle worked as a Senior Analyst at ALPORA AG and was already responsible for innovation analyses as part of the portfolio construction for both Innovation Funds. He also developed and revised the optimization models for calculating innovation efficiency. He brings this experience to bear as an Investment Specialist in the newly founded "Serafin Innovation Hub".

Dr. Niklas Bayrle completed his dissertation on innovation efficiency and firm growth at the University of Ulm. Previously, he obtained the academic degrees MSc. and BSc. in Physics and Management at the University of Ulm. He teaches and conducts research at the University of Liechtenstein on the topics of innovation efficiency, technology foresight and digitalization. In his free time, he enjoys mountaineering, skiing and travelling.

 

Roberto Bottoli, CFA

Investment Manager

Roberto Bottoli (1973) joined Serafin Asset Management AG as an Investment Manager in 2023. He is co-manager of the Serafin Diversified Arbitrage Fund.

He has more than two decades of experience in asset management. Before joining Serafin, Roberto Bottoli was employed at GAM where he had been managing the liquid alternative fund GAM Merger Arbitrage since 2016. Before that, he spent 17 years at Allianz Global Investors, first in Milan and then in Frankfurt. During this time, he was responsible for the Allianz Merger Arbitrage fund, as well as for several multi-asset institutional and retail funds. Roberto Bottoli is based in Lugano.

Roberto Bottoli holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Bocconi University in Italy and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He is a board member of Previp Fondo Pensione, an Italian pension fund. He is married and father of two children. In his free time, he likes to spend time on the lake, either fishing, sailing, or kayaking.

Daniel Durrer

Global Fund Distribution

Daniel Durrer (1968) joined Serafin Asset Management AG (formerly: AMG Fondsverwaltung AG) in 2023 as Head of Global Fund Distribution.

He has many years of experience in the asset management industry, especially in the fund business with a specific focus on sales and marketing. He acquired this expertise over more than 30 years at Swiss Bank Corporation in Basel, UBS Cayman Islands and GAM Investments in Zurich. As Managing Director and member of the Executive Board of GAM Investments Zurich, he was responsible for the sales activities in the CEMEA region and led several sales teams in various locations.

Daniel Durrer is a Federally Certified Marketing Planner. He is married and father of two children. He likes to spend his free time doing lots of sports and can occasionally be found on the lake in summer.

Bernhard Graf

Bernhard Graf (1966) is Co-Portfolio Manager of the AMG Gold - Mines & Metals Fund.

Bernhard Graf has many years of experience in the field of equity investments. He acquired this in equity trading at an international bank and various Swiss banks in London, Frankfurt and Zurich. Before joining Serafin Asset Management AG (formerly: AMG Fondsverwaltung AG), he was already able to gain experience in fund management and in the entrepreneurial field. Since 2013, he has been working in portfolio management at Serafin Asset Management AG, where he is responsible for analysis in the gold and silver mining sector in addition to customer service.

Bernhard Graf is a Federally Certified Financial Expert (AZEK). He is the father of two grown-up children. In his free time he can be found in the mountains, at the lake or on the golf course.  

Cornelia Grüter

Risk & Compliance

Cornelia Grüter (1973) is Risk & Compliance Officer at Serafin Asset Management AG (formerly: AMG Fondsverwaltung AG). Her responsibilities also include Human Resources, Finance and Administration.

During her many years as a private client advisor and team leader at a major bank, she acquired fund knowledge and sold investment funds with enthusiasm. During a five-year excursion into the back office, tasks in organisation and support were part of her daily business. In the course of her career, Cornelia Grüter also acquired knowledge in real estate management, which she has been using successfully for years. As an all-rounder, Cornelia Grüter is the supporting hand in many matters.

Cornelia Grüter is a Business Economist HF. She holds the SAQ "Risk Manager" certificate and obtained the Swiss Fund & Asset Management Officer FA certificate from the International Fund Business School in 2017. She is married and mother of a son. In addition to office work, she organises her family, house and garden and enjoys spending time in nature, doing sports and reading.

Patrick Hofer

Patrick Hofer (1968) joined Serafin Asset Management AG (formerly: AMG Fondsverwaltung AG) in 2007 as Portfolio Manager of both Innovation Funds.

Patrick Hofer has many years of experience in the financial sector. He gained this experience at various large and private banks in Switzerland, primarily in the fixed income area. Thanks to a senior position with a leading provider of convertible bonds, he also built up in-depth expertise in the area of equities.

Patrick Hofer holds a degree in Business Administration (BVS). He is married and has a daughter. He likes to spend his free time in the mountains, in summer and winter, or on the curling rink. 

Marietta Karletshofer

Marketing & Communication

Marietta Karletshofer (1986) joined Serafin Asset Management AG (formerly: AMG Fondsverwaltung AG) as a Business Analyst in the Marketing & Communication department in 2023.

She has many years of professional experience in the field of corporate finance & controlling in international companies. She acquired her financial expertise in positions as Group Controller, Financial Group Analyst, and Head of Finance & Controlling. Before joining Serafin Asset Management AG, she supported the management team of ALPORA AG and was already responsible for the monthly comments of both Innovation Funds. She researched and created digital content on innovation and investment topics as an analyst.

Marietta Karletshofer holds an academic degree in Business Administration (FH). She likes to spend her free time in nature, sailing, riding and skiing.

Jonas Koch

Business Manager

Jonas Felix Koch (1997) joined Serafin Asset Management AG (formerly: AMG Fondsverwaltung AG) as a Business Manager in 2023. He is responsible for M&A topics, project implementation, and strategic initiatives.

He has a diverse background through professional experience in consulting, banking, strategy departments, think tanks, and start-ups. He gained international experience through his studies in London and during his work at MHP – A Porsche Company in Beijing, the Institute of Economic Affairs in London, Sygnum Bank in Zurich, and Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt.

Jonas Koch completed his studies in economics, politics, and philosophy at the London School of Economics (LSE). He spends his free time in the mountains, at Lake Zurich, with his family and traveling.

Eduardas Lazebnyj

Financial Data Science

Eduardas Lazebnyj (1994) joined Serafin Asset Management AG (formerly: AMG Fondsverwaltung AG) in 2023 as a Financial Data Scientist as well as a Strategic Analyst for quantitative investment concepts.  

During his time as a technical consultant, he worked with real estate investment funds at a major Swiss bank, acquiring both technical and fundamental expertise. Prior to joining Serafin Asset Management AG in Zug, Eduardas Lazebnyj was since 2021 part of the investment team at Serafin Asset Management GmbH in Frankfurt, where his daily activities included the research and implementation of quantitative processes. He will continue this role and his focus on the application of mathematical models and the development of investment strategies at Serafin Asset Management AG. 

Eduardas Lazebnyj completed his MSc. in Mathematics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH) with a focus on financial mathematics. He spends his free time on the ice playing ice hockey or in the swimming pool. 

 

Richard Schaefer

Client Relationship Management

Richard Schaefer (1966) joined Serafin Asset Management AG (formerly: AMG Fondsverwaltung AG) in 2017 as a Member of the Client Service and Acquisition Team.

Richard Schaefer has many years of experience in sell-side Swiss and European equities. He acquired his comprehensive financial expertise over 20 years at major Swiss and private banks. In 2007, he joined Armor Capital (Switzerland) SA for exactly 10 years as Chief Operating Officer and Fundraising. Richard Schaefer was also responsible for setting up and expanding the Lausanne office. Armor Capital (Switzerland) SA was renamed Newton Advisory SA in 2009. Since joining Serafin Asset Management AG, he has been instrumental in establishing and expanding the Nyon branch in western Switzerland.

Richard Schaefer is married and father of a son. In his free time, he enjoys playing padel tennis, mountain biking, alpine skiing and loves Asian cuisine.

Karin Sinn

Marketing & Communication

Karin Sinn (1981) is responsible for Marketing & Communication at Serafin Asset Management AG (formerly: AMG Fondsverwaltung AG). 

She acquired her financial expertise and knowledge in Marketing & Communication at the former Coutts Bank von Ernst AG and at Bank Julius Baer & Co. Ltd. in the External Asset Manager (EAM) Business Development and afterwards in Marketing. As part of her Marketing & Communication responsibilities in the EAM Business Development team, she was also able to further deepen her marketing expertise at Julius Baer in Singapore and Hong Kong. Back in Switzerland, Karin Sinn took on global responsibility for the Marketing Intermediaries division before moving to Serafin Asset Management AG in 2016. 

Karin Sinn is a Federally Certified Marketing Planner. She is married and mother of two daughters. In her free time, she enjoys traveling to other countries with her family, meeting up with friends, or recharging her batteries with a relaxing evening at home.

Jonathan Stanford

Investment Manager

Jonathan Stanford (1971) joined Serafin Asset Management AG (formerly: AMG Fondsverwaltung AG) as an Investment Manager in 2023. He is co-manager of the Serafin Diversified Arbitrage Fund.

He has many years of international experience in investment banking, asset management, and trading and sales of convertible bonds and equity derivatives. Before joining Serafin Asset Management AG, Jonathan Stanford worked for more than 15 years as a Senior Fund Manager at GAM Investments in Lugano. During this time, he was responsible for the launch and management of the GAM Star (Lux) Convertible Alpha fund. Between 1994 and 1997 he was trading equities and derivatives at BCI (Suisse) and then joined UBS AG as Executive Director of convertible bond sales until 2007.

Jonathan Stanford holds an MBA from Long Island University in New York and a BA in International Management from Franklin University in Switzerland. He is married and has two children. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, hiking, and biking in the mountains. He is also an instrument-rated private pilot who enjoys flying with friends and family.

Ronald Wildmann

Portfolio Management
Research

Ronald Wildmann (1965) is as Portfolio Manager responsible for the AMG Substanzwerte Schweiz Fund and AMG Schweizer Perlen Fund.

After completing his studies, Ronald Wildmann worked for ING Bank (Switzerland), Swiss Volksbank and Credit Suisse Private Banking as a Portfolio Manager and Financial Analyst. He was Head of Swiss Equity Brokerage Research at Bank Leu for more than eight years before joining an independent asset manager as a Partner responsible for commodity investments for another seven years. He was then responsible for building up Research Partners AG. In April 2022, he moved from an internationally active securities trader to Serafin Asset Management AG (formerly: AMG Fondsverwaltung AG), where he continues his passion for Swiss Equities.

Ronald Wildmann graduated from the University of Zurich with a degree in Economics, specializing in Business Administration. He also holds a Federal Diploma as a Financial Analyst and Asset Manager. In his free time, he devotes himself to his family and is a passionate fan of FC Zurich, a major Swiss football club. Regular jogging and fitness training as well as various voluntary activities provide a balance.
